Issues

State Representative Phyllis Mundy sits on two committees:

 1. House Finance Committee (Democratic chairwoman)

2. House Rules Committee

Representative Mundy is working for the people by putting the interests of her constituents in the 120th District first in her work on the commitees she sits on and on all issues! For her, the focus has always been on the most pressing issues that are affecting them. Due to her efforts, Representative Mundy has delivered a record of real results for the hard-working middle class families of her district. This record inclues stellar constituent service through her district office in Kingston. The sterling reputation of her district office is exemplified in so many stories, including her push for an investigation into the practices of Luzerne County judges during the “kids for cash” scandal when families of the affected children informed her of the abuse that was occuring.

Representative Mundy is an effective advocate for working families. She has fought for affordable utility bills,  fought for lower health care costs, expanded PACE and PACENET eligibility for seniors while also lowering their prescription drug costs, and she strongly supported employment opportunities for Pennsylvanians like the Job Ready PA Initiative.

Representative Mundy is a strong supporter of quality education for our children. She has worked to improve college affordability, to strengthen early childhood education in Pennsylvania, and she has worked to insure that at-risk children and families are given the support they deserve. Her dedication to a strong education for Pennsylvania’s children has only become greater as she now serves as the co-chairman of the bicameral, bipartisan Early Childhood Education Caucus.

Representative Mundy is a defender of our environmnent. She has earned a 100% rating from the Sierra Club for her efforts to improve streams, enhance flood protection, support regulations on water and air pollution, and, most recently, for her decisive leadership in calling for a one year moratorium on new Marcellus Shale drilling permits.

It is this hard work and these real results that Representative Mundy will continue to deliver for the 120th District if she is given the opportunity to serve her constituents again.
